I was seeking the means to move about the island and I do not want to use taxis and means of transport. We then decided to hire a scooter and it was an excellent experience to visit the island. A rental shop was located close to the port and had several types of scooters to rent, some of which are very cool vintages. The shop owner was extremely cooperative and provided us with some excellent advice on places to visit and things to see and even advised us on the HOTELS IN HAVALOCK to stay. We have rented a scooter and spent several days and it was a wonderful experience to tour the island. We could drive to some of the more remote beaches and villages, we even had a trip to the nearest Neil Island. The only negative was that the roads were somewhat poor, but it was worth having the freedom and flexibility of having our own scooter.
